With Mother’s Day coming up, I went looking for some old photos of my mom and me.  I was sad to find that there weren’t a lot. But…here is a pretty good one.  Celebrating Mother’s Day no less!

My mom was probably so happy that we made that humongous cookie for her!  I can see it now.  “Let’s just put the entire ball of dough on the tray and see what happens.  Mom is going to love it!”

Of course there were lots of me with my dad.  My mom was usually behind the camera.  These days it is even more of an epidemic.  “Moms with cameras” are everywhere, and they have to learn to hand over the camera sometimes!  I know I am guilty of this.  One problem is that moms are usually more self conscious in front of the camera.  We don’t like to see ourselves in pictures.  It’s really sad, actually.  These photos are going to evoke wonderful childhood memories for our kids one day.  Our children are not critical of what we look like!  They may make fun of our clothing or hairstyles many years down the road, and they should.  That’s part of the fun of looking at our “old” pictures.

I have chosen some of my favorite mom/ child photos from the last year.   Capturing moments like this with mom and her child(ren) are my favorite!  And you know who is going to love them even more when they grow up?  The children!  Each and every one of these photos is a little treasure.
