last day of school

My little pumpkins are officially enjoying summer break.  I took some photos of them on their last day of school.  I was happy for them, but kind of crying on the inside.  I don’t get a “summer break.”  My break time is while they are at school!  Don’t get me wrong.  I love summer!  The…

sibling love

It was such a pleasure meeting this new baby and his big sister.  She was excited to show him off. I am usually hired by parents who want to capture pictures of their brand new addition.  It’s important not to forget about the toddler in the family.  She is the one with tons of…

thankful

Today I am thankful for: a motivated friend who convinces me to exercise some time spent on my mountain bike the meal plan that I completed for the week (there is a first for everything!) These freckles make me melt.

red lollipop

As parents, we do whatever it takes to make our kids happy before a photo shoot.  In this case, it was a big, red lollipop.   Luckily, this little girl, and the rest of the family, rocked their photo shoot– red mouth and all.  (At least it matched her shoes.  Nice work, mom!) My philosophy as…

yellow leaves

Fall in Salt Lake City is beautiful.  Summer time is still my favorite, but looking at these images makes me long for a yellow-leaf kind of day. I look at this picture and think I must have been acting pretty goofy to get those kinds of smiles. People hire professional photographers to capture the…

the barn | salt lake city family photography

It was a beautiful day in Park City. Ok, maybe we were a little bit chilly, but at least the sun was shining. Looks like my little friend was thinking, “what do you want me to do here?  I’m freezing!” These are some of my favorite family photos.  The colors, the light coming through…

mountain sunset | salt lake city family photography

It is possible to take great photos at any time of day.  But…there is something about the last light of the day that can make photography magical. The kids and I explored and played together for a while before we set out to capture the sunset view across the street. These three are either…
